The Sandschnurfüßer ( Ommatoiulus sabulosus ) is a millipedes of the family of Julidae. He is turning around, is to 58 mm long and has 107 pairs of legs. Striking are two bright longitudinal bands on the back. Millipedes curl up in case of danger and but a sticky, poisonous secretion, Sandschnurfüßer can secrete such a secretion without threat.

The Sandschnurfüßer is widespread in Central Europe and frequently. The species lives in the litter layer of vegetation and is eurytop, particularly common is it to brownfields. This Millipede shows occasionally outbreaks and directed walks.
