Onalaska is a city in Polk County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city lies on the Farm Road 356 in East Texas, 150 km north of Houston and has a total area of 5.6 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 1,174 people in 538 households and 350 families. The population density was 211.8 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 91.23 % White, 6.56 % African American, 0.34 % Native American, 0.34 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 0.43 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 1.11% were Mixed Race and 2.39 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
