Onchan
Onchan ( manx Kione Droghad, literally bridge end ) is a village in the east of the Isle of Man and Douglas the second largest settlement on the island.
History
In 1890 here was a Steinzeitaxt with an estimated age of about 5,000 years have been found. The place is associated with Kirk Coonachan, one by Bishop Coonachan named ( 540 ) Church, in conjunction. The native name ( Kiondroghad ) first appeared in 1643 and then again in 1841 on writing.
Are held annually stockcar racing in Onchan.
