One Night Genius

One Night Genius ( Thai อัจฉริยะ ข้าม คืน, RTGS: Atchariya Khamkhuen ) was a series of 90 minute each game shows that were broadcast from July 2006 to January 2008 by the Thai television station Channel 3. Weekly, eight participants ( throughout academics ) from eight different departments individually or in small groups under time pressure against each other. The winner received a million baht (about 30,000 euros ).

In every show a passage had been completely closed, so that in the next show new candidates were presented. The competition, which consisted of several disciplines and in which took place a process of elimination, consisted of constantly changing tasks ( puzzles, memory tests, practical tasks, skill games, logic tests, and the like ). The tasks were only solved by Collective Intelligence; therefore always won only one group.

The television show was based on an idea by Rungtham Phumsinil, who was also her executive producer. It was chaired by Panya Nirunkul and Tankhun Jitissara. The production company was WorkPoint Entertainment. The first broadcast took place on 3 July 2006.

Regulate

Before the competition begins

  • The competitors, each called a " genius", get a backpack ( lifesaving bag) by the host. This includes, among other provisions, tools, writing materials, consumables, mobile phone and, where appropriate missionssspezifisches material.

Mission one

  • The first qualification is divided into two parts: The individual qualification consists of 20 questions that need to be solved alone and without help. It always distinguish the two worst of the mission 2 and 3.
  • The group task ( pairs ) consists of an identical for all teams task, such as 24 -piece memory game in which the playing field is rotated if necessary.

Mission two

  • This second qualification is divided into two parts: The individual qualifications is to be solved by now of six participants, including the construction of a Jenga tower etc. The four winners advance to the next round.
  • The group task ( triplets ), a similar for all teams task is to solve a team always eliminated.

Mission three

  • The remaining four participants must individually solve a puzzle using their equipment. This results in a question. The first two participants who give the answer first, take part in the finals.
