OneAmerica Tower

OneAmerica Tower (formerly American United Life Insurance Tower or short AUL Tower ) is a skyscraper built in the eighties in the U.S. city of Indianapolis. The OneAmerica Tower extends over 38 floors above the earth at a height of 162.46 meters, making it the second tallest building in the city.

The OneAmerica Tower is located in downtown Indianapolis, near the southeast lying Monument Circle. The block on which the building was constructed, is covered by the New York Street to the north, the Illinois Street to the east, Ohio Street in the south and Capitol Avenue in the west. The address is 1 American Square.

The tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill designed the headquarters of American United Life Insurance Company. When completed in 1982 it was the tallest building in Indianapolis and remained as such until the Chase Tower was built in 1990.

The building has a steel skeleton and a facade of light brown Indiana limestone. The actual tower is located in the southeast corner of the block. The side with the main entrance looking toward the southeast. The floor plan of the tower has the shape of a drawn-out width hexagon. Lead from the eighth floor of two small side wings in stages down. The main entrance is located in a three storey high glass -covered porch.
