Ooi Teik Hock

Ooi Teik Hock (* November 13, 1920; † 20th or 21st century) was a Malaysian Badminton player.

Career

Ooi Teik Hock won with the Malaysian team the first edition of the World Championship for Men teams, the. Thomas Cup in season 1948/49,

For the finale, he went with his seven teammates Chan Kon Leong, Law Teik Hock, Yeoh Teck Chye, Teoh Seng Khoon, Wong Peng Soon, Lim Kee Fong, Ong Poh Lim and the nichtspielendem Captain Lim Chuan Geok in December 1948 on a 25 - day boat trip to the United Kingdom, where the Malays were first confronted with a European winter. In the semi final against the United States Ooi Teik Hock won with his partner Teoh Seng Khoon against both Clinton Stephens and Bobby Williams as well as against Dave Freeman and Wynn Rogers clearly in two sentences. In the final against Denmark both won again clearly against Poul Holm and Ib and Jørn Olesen Skaarup and Preben Dabelsteen and thus laid the foundation for Malaya victory in this first edition of the Thomas Cup.

Once in Europe, Malaya badminton aces in 1949, participating in other international tournaments and exhibition battles. Ooi Teck Hock and Teoh Seng Khoon won while the men's doubles both the prestigious All England, where she and Dave Freeman Wynn Rogers faced again when the Denmark Open.

Ooi Teik Hock 1952 was again a member of the Malaysian Thomas Cup team and contributed a win against Dick Mitchell in the final against the United States for a successful title defense at.
