Oostburg

Oostburg ( Zeeländisch - Flemish Wòstburg ) is a village in the municipality of Sluis in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The population is mostly Protestant, there is a Catholic minority. Long live 4,912 people there (as of 2009 ).

History

The city received city rights in 1237.

By 2003, Oostburg was also the headquarters of the municipality of the same name. This merged with the municipality of Sluis - Aardenburg to the new municipality of Sluis.
