OpenThesaurus
Open Thesaurus is an open -source thesaurus integrated over the Internet or in a program can be used offline. Open thesaurus is best known for its use in the applications OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, KWord, LyX and Apple lexicon.
History
Trigger of the project Open Thesaurus was in 2002, the advent of Open Office, in which licensing reasons, the thesaurus of StarOffice was missing. Open Thesaurus closed this gap by imported German Synonyms possible from a freely accessible Deutsch-/Englisch-Wörterbuch and have been improved and updated through a Web application.
Since OpenOffice.org version 2.0.3 of the Open thesaurus is included in installation package and does not need to be installed separately. Another great spread, the project has since Mac OS X 10.5 experience with a lookup function from Apple lexicon, in which the data from Open thesaurus can be integrated as a plugin.
