OpenVG

OpenVG is a programming interface for hardware-accelerated two-dimensional vector and raster graphics. The interface is independent of programming language and hardware.

OpenVG is mainly used in embedded systems such as mobile phones, game consoles and other media devices. OpenVG is published by the industry consortium Khronos Group, which developed the OpenGL ES specification for three-dimensional graphics.

Versions

The first draft specification was released in late 2004. On 1 August 2005, version 1.0 was released. The current version 1.1 was provided by the Khronos Group is available on 3 December 2008.
