Operation Black Tulip

Operation " Black Tulip " was the name of the expulsion action of German origin from the Netherlands after the Second World War. The plan of the Dutch government called for the expulsion of all citizens of German descent. It is the largest expulsion in the history of the Netherlands. About 25,000 people were to be deported to Germany accordingly; actually slightly less than 15% ( 3,691 people) were deported to the German minority. Also affected by the deportation were the Dutch wives of men of German descent. The fortune of living in the Netherlands Germans confiscated it, this was in 1967 held definitively by law and related to assets worth a total of half a billion euros.

The operation " Black Tulip " began in 1946 and was discontinued in late 1948 at the behest of the Allies after the outbreak of the Cold War, since West Germany should be integrated into the Western Association.
