Operation Christmas Drop

The Operation Christmas Drop (English: Operation Christmas shedding) is a tradition of the United States Air Force and is the longest-running humanitarian operation of the Air Force. This tradition has existed since 1952, when the crew of a Boeing WB -50 when returning from Guam over Micronesia noticed people who waved to them. The Department responded by parachutes attached to a package and threw off this.

Today

The Operation Christmas Drop is performed every year during the festive season. Here are several boxes of goods, in 2010 there were 60, such as food, medicines, fishing nets, but dropped well as toys. The crew is made up of members of the Andersen Air Force Base and the Japanese Yokota Air Base. Today, a C -130 Hercules is used for the operation.
