Operation Imposing Law

Joint Security Stations are (English for Joint Security Station ) military establishments of the Iraqi armed forces, police, and in some cases also of the U.S. armed forces in various districts of the Iraqi capital Baghdad and the surrounding area. These properties were established in the wake of increasing the military presence of the U.S. in Iraq in 2007 and should provide more security in Baghdad.

The approach pursued approach involves a departure from the previously operated stationing Iraqi and American security forces in large field camps away from the different districts, to many small, partly dismantled fortress-like facilities in as many districts of the city. This is to ensure a permanent presence of the army, police and security personnel on a large area as possible. The Joint Security Stations ( JSS ) are based on the idea of ​​the police stations are divided into different areas in the cities, which in turn are associated with their own police facilities. On 12 April 2007 the U.S. military announced that 45 JSS in Baghdad itself and a further 30 are formed in the outskirts of the town. The data used by the U.S. Armed Forces Combat Outposts, small, secluded battle items which are mostly housed in individual houses have been already partially expanded in the wake of increasing troops to Joint Security Stations.
