Operation Medak Pocket

Operation Medak boiler ( kroat. Operacija Medački Dzep, Eng. Operation Medak Pocket) was a military operation, Croatian Army between 9 and 17 September 1993 during Croatian units in the area of the southern Lika near Gospic in the village of Medak part of the proclaimed by Serb separatists Republic of Serbian Krajina conquered.

The Croatian offensive was initially successful, defeating the Serbian irregulars in the field. The Croatian forces were accused of following the action to have committed war crimes against the local Serb population and to have fired at UN peacekeepers.

Despite the military success of the action developed into a setback for the Croatian policy. After strong international pressure, the Croatian forces in the area had to retreat.
