Operation Shamrock

During surgery, Shamrock is a relief of the Irish Red Cross in the aftermath of the Second World War. Supports more than 1,000 German and French children were rescued from a potential starvation.

For this, the children were taken by the Red Cross to Ireland, where they were initially housed and cared for in large groups. Then later took Irish families the children individually or siblings, on. The action lasted up to three years.

About 50 of the children remained even after the end of the campaign in Ireland, or returned back there.
