Green blackberry Bandeule ( Ophiusa tirhaca )

The Green blackberry Bandeule ( Ophiusa tirhaca, Syn: Noctua tirrhaea ) is a butterfly of the family of cutworms ( Noctuidae ), which is common in the Mediterranean to the Southern Alps, but mainly in Australia and in the subtropical regions of Asia.

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 50 to 65 millimeters. The front wings have a conspicuous bright light green or brownish-green color. At the hem there is a brown tie. The kidneys have the same stigma brown color as the binding, and the Costa loader is a dark brown, triangular spot. The yellow hind wings have a dark brown transverse fascia.

The reddish- gray caterpillar is drawn dark.

Way of life

The moths fly in two generations from early March to late April and early September to early November. The type came as immigrants to Europe and settled here in warmer areas such as the Mediterranean.
