Opočno (Louny District)

Opočno ( German Opotschna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of Louny and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

Opočno is located at the northern foot of the mountains Džbán left side of the creek Hasina. South-east rises the Holý vrch ( 300 m), in the south of Okrouhlík (440 m) and in the southwest of Ovčí vrch ( Sheep Mountain, 317 m). Through the village leads the railway line Rakovník Louny.

Neighboring towns are Malnice in the north, and Jimlín Cítoliby in the northeast, Líšťany in the east, and Zbrašín Hořany the southeast, Touchovice in the south, Lipno in the southwest, Lipenec in the west and Skupice in the northwest.

History

On the Holý vrch found pieces of pottery from the period 750-400 BC. are the Hallstatt culture associate.

After the abolition of patrimonial Opočno / Opotschna formed in 1850 a district of the municipality in the district Imling Postelberg. From the 1860s, the community was named Spojená obec Jimlín, Opočno a Novohradský / towns Opočno, Neuschloß and Imling. 1869 requested the community in Prague unsuccessful referral in the Launer judicial and political office district. After the Munich Agreement, the place remained in Czechoslovakia in 1938 and was annexed to the Okres Louny. With the beginning of 1961 Opočno was incorporated into Jimlín. In 1981, the village as a district to Hřivice. In November 1990 the church was again. Opočno had in 1990 105 inhabitants and consisted of 70 houses. The village is a traditional Hopfenbauort.
