Oracle Application Server

The Oracle Application Server 10g is an application server by Oracle, which contains, among other things, an implementation of the Java EE architecture. The name is correlated with the 10g version of the Oracle database, a relational database system ( RDBMS) and well-known Oracle product. The ' g ' stands for grid.

As the little brother of the Oracle Application Server applies the OC4J. The OC4J is only the JEE container without the supplied Apache web server, high availability features and management tools, as it possesses the Oracle Application Server. JEE compatibility

The Oracle Application Server is available in versions 9i ( 9.0.x ) and the first release of version 10g ( 10.1.2 aka 10g R2) JEE 1.3 compatible. Since version 10.1.3 ( 10g R3) he is JEE 1.4 compatible.
