Order of Pedro I

The Pedro Order was by the Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro I on April 16, 1826 donated in Rio de Janeiro and provided on 19 October 1842 by his successor, Dom Pedro II with statutes.

Order of classes

The Order had three classes and the number of members was limited.

  • Grand Cross to 12 members
  • Commander on 50 members
  • Knight on 100 members

Order decoration

The religious character shows a rising from a seven -pointed, occupied with rubies and emeralds crown dragon, which leads to his breast a shield with the initials of the founder PI in black letters. The head of the dragon is crowned by the Brazilian imperial crown.

The breast star is a white enamelled cross with gold rims and balls at the tips. In it, a white medallion with the image of the dragon as described above. In the green hoop of the medallion is in golden letters the inscription Fundador DO BRASIL DE imperiO. The star will be crowned as the religious character of the imperial crown.

Carrying method

The ribbon is green with white board strips.
