Order of Queen Maria Luisa

As Mary - Louise Royal Medal, also only Mary - Louise Medal or Maria -Luisa Medal named, this order was on March 19, 1792 (April 21, 1792. ) Has been established as a Spanish lady north.

Founder was King Charles IV of Spain. Named this was after his wife Queen Marie Louise of Parma.

In 1808 the King Joseph Bonaparte abolished this Order. Under King Ferdinand VII this order straightened November 24, 1816 the Queen, born Princess of Portugal, Isabella Maria Franziska new one.

Thought was awarded the Order for the award of noble ladies for faithful service. With the award, an obligation was imposed. So was a monthly visit to public facilities such as hospitals duty. Every year, the Dames had to hold a memorial service for the late Dames.

The Order has only one class and is limited to 30 members.

Order decoration

The medal decoration consists of a hanging on a golden laurel wreath gold cross with inserted at the tips of small golden ball. In two cross angles a leaping lion, and in the other two corners of a golden wall tower are each attached. All four angular elements are connected by a gold chain. The cross arms are purple enamel and framed by a white border with thin gold lines. The enameled central shield shows on the front the Holy Ferdinand, religious patron. A purple gold bordered deterministic frost surrounds everything. The back of the medallion the initials of the founder in the center and frost the religious motto " RI: Ordn. Dla Reina Maria Louisa. Ribbon and carrying method

The ribbon is white with broad purple stripe on both sides of the strip. The decoration is worn as a sash over the right shoulder to the left hip.
