Order of the Crown (Belgium)

The Order of the Crown ( Ndl Kroonorde, French Ordre de la Couronne ) was founded on 15 October 1897 by King Leopold II of Belgium as civil and military Order of Merit for the Congo State. In 1908 he went through the ranks of the Belgian Order.

Order decoration

The religious character is a Five-star, white enamelled golden spitz cross with smooth rays between the arms. On the front is seen in the gilt-edged blue enameled medallion, a royal crown. On the back, an L ( Leopold ).

Carrying method

The Grand Cross is worn with a sash from the right shoulder to the left hip and a zehnstrahligen breast star with alternating brilliant rays in silver and smooth rays in gold. In case of major officers of the breast star is fünfarmig. Commanders carry the distinction of being neck Orders, officers and knights on the tape on the left chest.
