Order of the Hatchet

The Order del Hacha, also called the Ordre de la Hache, the ladies of the ax or the Order of the ladies of the ax, was a Spanish order of knighthood and said to have been founded around 1149/1150 of Count Raymond of Barcelona. It is also called only Order of the ax.

The Order was intended for ladies who proved to be brave defenders at the siege of Tortosa against the Moors. Order your clothing was a long skirt of unknown color which was worn with a Capuchin cap. It was embroidered in crimson as a religious sign an ax.
