Oregon Institute of Technology Oregon Tech or OIT is cast off the Technical University of Oregon University System and the only technical university in the northwestern United States. The main campus is located in Klamath Falls, Oregon. More campus located in Portland, Salem, La Grande and Seattle. With an emphasis on technical courses and studies are available in the health sector.

History

The college was founded in 1947 as Oregon Vocational School to returning veterans of World War II to provide vocational training. The first lectures were conducted in a former military hospital in the United States Marine Corps northwest of Klamath Falls. 1953 renamed the Oregon Technical Institute, a first academic training was held, who graduated with an associate degree. The main campus moved to its current facility in 1964 and 1973, the Institute received its current name.

Organization and study

As usual at American universities, this university is divided into schools:

  • School of Engineering, Technology and Management
  • School of Health, Arts and Sciences

The vast majority of students will acquire an associate degree or a bachelor of science. In the subjects Civil Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Technology and a Master is offered.
