Oroch people

The Orotschen ( Russian language: Орочи; [ Orotschi ] ) are a small Tungusic indigenous people of Russian Far East. They must not be confused with the Oroken on Sakhalin and the northern Tungus Oroqen in China. According to the last census in 2002 there were still 686 Orotschen (1990: 900 ), but only talk about 150 people Orotsch, a south- Tungusic language.

The traditional settlement area is located in the Khabarovsk region.
