Oscar Hinsberg

Oscar Heinrich Daniel Hinsberg ( born October 21, 1857 in Berlin, † February 13, 1939 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German chemist and university teacher.

Hinsberg studied chemistry and received his doctorate at the University of Tübingen, his doctor father was Eugen Baumann. He was a professor at the University of Freiburg and later at the University of Geneva.

Hinsberg discovered the famous Hinsberg separation, a method for the identification and separation of various amines on the sulfonamides.
