Oseček

Oseček ( German Klein Wossek, also Woseczek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-east of Poděbrady and belongs to Okres Kolin.

Geography

Oseček located above the confluence of the Cidlina on the left bank of the Elbe River on the East Bohemian panel. Leads through the village the road 38 between Nymburk and Kolin. To the east lies in the floodplain of the declared nature reserve floodplain Libický luh, northwest Osečeker the dune. To the north runs the route of the D 11/Europastraße 67 highway, in the north- east, the exit is 39 Poděbrady -jih. West of Oseček run the tracks of the great experiment of Velim ring. In the east, there is a ferry connection to Velky Osek.

Neighboring towns are Sanspareil and Choťánky in the north, Libice nad Cidlinou in the northeast, Na Přívoze and Velky Osek in the east, in the southeast Veltruby, Pňov in the south, Klipec the southwest, Sokoleč in the west and Kluk in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of lying in the left floodplain fishing village took place in 1227. Since the 16th century the village belonged to the rule Poděbrady.

After the abolition of patrimonial Voseček / small Wossek formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Poděbrady. 1952, the river regulation works on the Elbe were completed. Since 1 January 1961, the municipality belongs to fulltext your real estates. 1963 the village was west of the experimental ring Velim put into operation. In 1980 Oseček was incorporated into Pňov - Předhradí. Since 1992, the community is again.
