Osieki, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Osieki ( German Wusseken ) is a village in Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland.

Geographical location

Osieki is located directly on the eastern shore of Lake Jamno near the Pomeranian Baltic Sea beach, about 8 kilometers northwest of the town Sianów ( Zanow ) and 12 kilometers north of the regional capital of Koszalin.

History

Osieki, a village church was originally derived from a Slavic noble residence, whose owners were first mentioned in the 13th century. Over the centuries, the Owner of the property changed.

Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied in the spring of 1945 by the Red Army and subsequently placed under Polish administration. After that, the native German population of immigrant Poles were expelled from their village due to the so-called Bierut Decrees. The place is now a part of the Polish administrative district Gmina Sianów.
