Osman Hill's mangabey

The Osman Hill Mangabe ( Lophocebus Ottoman ) is a primate of the family Cercopithecidae ( Cercopithecidae ). It was long considered a subspecies of the Grauwangenmangabe, in 2007 but raised to the species status. The species is named in honor of the biologist William Charles Osman Hill ( 1901-1975 ).

Osman Hill mangabeys are slim built primates with long limbs and a long tail. Their fur is dyed dark brown at the top, the underside is lighter, usually yellow -gray. The head has an elongated snout, long back hair is gray or golden yellow. Are located at the shoulders long, reddish brown, coat similar hair.

Osman Hill mangabeys live in plateau areas in Cameroon, they are spread from the border with Nigeria in the west to the province Est. They live in forests and are primarily used in areas more than 600 meters before.

Over the life of this kind is hardly anything known. Presumably, it is like the Grauwangenmangabe a diurnal and arboreal, living in small groups and feeds on fruits, nuts and small animals.

Even on the level of danger you know nothing. The IUCN summarizes the nature nor the Grauwangenmangabe together, but keeps an urgent re-evaluation is necessary.
