Ossett

Ossett is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wakefield City of the English county of West Yorkshire. She had a total of 21,076 inhabitants in 2001 according to census.

Geography

Ossett is located between Dewsbury and Wakefield, right on the M1 and about 15 km south of Leeds.

Economy

Until the 1960s, coal mining was the main industry for the male population Ossetts. The second important branch of industry was the textile industry.
