Östers IF

Östers IF is a Swedish football club based in Växjö. The club also has sections in ice hockey and bowling. Austria IF was four times Swedish champion football and plays in the 2014 season in the second-rate Superettan.

History

The club was founded in 1930 and reached 1958 for the first time the Swedish second division. After the 1961 team failed in their first qualifying matches for the Fotbollsallsvenskan, they had more success in 1967 and rose to. In the first year in the top division could win the title. Further championships followed in 1978, 1980 and 1981. Aus 1977 won the national cup competition. The big man of the Association ( " Mr. Austria " ) was Stig Svensson. After the club was demoted in 1988, he reached again in 1990, the Allsvenskan.
