Ostroszowice

Ostroszowice ( German Weigelsdorf ) is in the municipality Dzierżoniów in Lower Silesia in Poland. It lies at the eastern foot of the Owl Mountains.

History

Weigel village was first mentioned in 1366 and already described as a large parish village. It is likely that Weigelsdorf is identical to the previous Burkhard village, which has been established to coincide with the neighboring Lampersdorf in 1260 by locators. While Burkhard village is not mentioned after 1316, appeared in the same place with the first mention of 1366 on a Weigandisdorff. As the owner of the village appear in the 16th century, the lords of the network, which were inherited in 1757 by the Lords of seer - Thoss ( 1775 counts ).

One of the most important companies in Weigelsdorf to 1945 were the United Berliner metal and wood furniture factories AG, headquartered in Oberndorf, near the station. In the village there was the sawmill & wheelwright Carl cunt, in the Owl Mountains also known for its ski production. In the district of Tannenberg a branch factory was operated by the weaving Friedrich Dierig from Bielawa.

Attractions

  • The castle was built in 1715-18 by Count of seer - Thoss and had a castle-like Bauweise.1861 1863 it was enlarged and rebuilt. Recently it was owned by Heinrich Leopold Graf von seer - Thoss. From 1945 it was left to decay.
