Ostrvo (Kostolac)

Ostrvo (Serbian for Island) is a former island in the Danube in Serbia.
It lay east of Belgrade in Kostolac and was having a length of 20 km and a width of 3 km at around 60 km ², the largest island of the country. The island was inhabited, in the western part was a village. Today, the Danube flows around the area just to the north. The former southern arm of the river exists in this area only partially in terms of the smaller dead branches.
