Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area

The Otter Creek Park is a 11 km ² park in Kentucky at the mouth of Otter Creek River in the Ohio, Kentucky separates from Indiana. The park is located near Fort Knox. Although the park is located outside the area of Louisville, it is operated by the city. The city had in 1947 obtained the land by the U.S. government in recognition of services during the Second World War.

The namesake of the park, the Otter Creek, runs along its eastern side. The park features primitive forest views. In the north, a picturesque bend of the Ohio River can be seen, due to the dense forest cover, however, better in winter. Also for mountain bikers and equestrians is the area a popular destination.

One of the attractions is Morgan 's Cave, a mile-long cave with a small stream that comes out in the park. The cave is accessible, but all year cordoned off to protect the bats and only once or twice a year with a guided tour available. During the Civil War here a Captain Morgan is said to have hidden with his entire regiment.
