Otto Barth (artist)

Otto Barth ( born October 3, 1876 in Vienna, † August 9, 1916 in Vienna [ Note 1 ] ) was an Austrian academic painter, graphic artist, and mountaineer.

Life

Otto Barth was born the second son of Art and ornamental gardener Johann Barth and his wife Anna ( Birthplace: Schleifmühlgasse 11, Vienna - Wieden ). He was in his childhood as physically weak and was often sick. Only the intense activity in the mountains is said to have helped him to health and strength. In accordance with his talent, he attended art school and later the Academy.

Barth was closely associated with Gustav ( Gustl ) Jahn friends, as he did. An avid mountaineer and painter Both took many trips together; several of which were first ascents.
