Otto Fetting

Otto Fetting ( born November 20, 1871 in Casco, St. Clair County, Michigan, USA, † January 30, 1933 in Port Huron, Michigan) was the founder, apostle and leader of the Church of Christ ( Fetting ), which later became the Church of Christ has emerged with the Elijah message.

By his own admission and the faith of this church received Fetting, which was until 1929 a member and Apostles Church of Christ (Temple Lot), from 1927 to 1933 a total of 30 divine messages that have been delivered by the appearing as an angel resurrected John the Baptist.

Work in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Already in his youth he joined the church work and was in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints (English " Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ", abbreviated RLDS ), since 2001 with the new name " Community of Christ " (English" Community of Christ "), baptized on February 9, 1891, ordained a priest in 1899. When the church in 1925 voted that no longer ordained apostles of this church, but their president should have the supreme and direct control over the church, this caused much dissatisfaction among members. Therefore Fetting and many other priests and members of the Church of Christ, Temple Lot moved.

Work in the Church of Christ (Temple Lot)

In the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) Fetting was appointed in the spring of 1926 with the election of the apostles to the apostles and ordained. At the spring conference of the Church in 1927, he said that a heavenly messenger appeared to him was twice since February 4, 1927. Fetting read out the two messages to the audience. These messages were accepted as divine and genuine and accepted by the Church. The Church of Christ (Temple Lot) at the time was also receptive to the other alleged visits of John the Baptist and recognized its messages. The texts and the details of the angel visits have been published for the first time and then regularly in the Church's monthly newsletter "Zion 's Advocate ".

On July 18, 1929, however, was the supposed messenger John the Baptist in the 12th message, the statement that those who are from other churches - ie also of other Mormon churches - come to join or the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) have also previously been connected, must be baptized in the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) including Fetting again. This came within the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) partly due to strong opposition.

Embassy 12, 4: " Behold, the Lord has all denominations and splinter groups that deviated from the word of the Lord and an abomination have become in his eyes dropped. Let, therefore, those who come to the Church of Christ, ' to be baptized so that they can free themselves from the traditions and sins of the people. In order to prepare themselves so that they can be suitable and worthy of the spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit and because the greater power will come, that they may be ready to receive them with joy. For this is the time of the re-establishment and restoration of all things; and this must come to all, which it will be allowed to live in the presence of Christ, for sin can not receive the glory of God, nor the power of the Holy Spirit. "

Otto Fetting then was baptized on September 2, 1929 again. Because of the controversy, already believers who were baptized by other churches once before, to baptize again, it came within the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) for cleavage. Five men of the church council brought about a decision to exclude all those Members who were rebaptized under Fetting due to the 12 message. Fetting and some apostles, and about half the members of the church left together with the excluded then the Church of Christ (Temple Lot). This church rejected now after the break with Fetting and his followers not only the controversial 12 message, but also all previous messages that should have the resurrected John the Baptist to Otto Fetting delivered purely as a human.

Establishment of the Church of Christ ( Fetting ) and thereat work

Otto Fetting founded in 1929 along with other former apostles and members of the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) own Church of Christ. To distinguish them from other " Churches of Christ " is the name of the church was founded by Fetting supplemented with its bracketed last name. In later years, went out of the church produced the "Church of Christ with the Elijah Message", the name "The Church of Christ with the Elijah Message" was founded by WA Draves (1912-1994) in the German -speaking world. This addition was chosen as John the Baptist in the power and authority of the Old Testament prophet Elijah, Latin should be " Elijah" come, and already in the Bible at his first coming to the time of Jesus is called " Elijah ". This additional wording indicates today, all those branches of the Church, believe the signals received at Fetting and Draves of messages of which appeared as Engelsbote John the Baptist.

The church founder Fetting received since February 4, 1927 mainly at his home in Port Huron, Michigan, until January 28, 1933, just under two days before his death, many more messages ( 30 in total), which to this day next to the Bible and the record of the Nephites ( a now own edition of the book of Mormon ) to the Holy Scriptures of the Church of Christ belong to the Elias message. Written testimony about the visits by the angel messenger

Otto Fetting's testimony

In order to testify to the truth of his alleged experiences on oath personally, Fetting wrote on October 9, 1929 after the 14th message of October 7, 1927, the following personal testimony:

"To all whom it may concern: I'm doing on this day before God this solemn testimony under oath, God is my witness, and I expect one day to stand before the court barrier to account for this explanation.

The appearance and the words of the visits of the messenger are true. I have seen him from time to time. I heard his voice; I have seen his face. I saw the light; I felt his hand on my head and the blow on my shoulder. I was wrapped in that wonderful celestial and divine power, and the words that I have given you are not my words but the words that God sent through John the Baptist.

I want to make this statement so that everyone can know that this is true. It hardly matters, what will become of me in the future, but I can not and will not deny the things that I have seen and heard of the heavenly messengers, as long as I have my right mind and God my life and gives His grace to persevere here on earth.

Others may make statements about me, but I want that it is understood that this testimony is true. And I'll stay this advice and the instructions that were given by the messenger, without regard to what might people say true. - Signed Otto Fetting, Independence, Missouri, October 9, 1929 ".
