Otto Schaden

John Otto damage (* 1937) is an American Egyptologist. He is currently director of the excavation Amenmesse Tomb Project of the University of Memphis (Tennessee). In addition to his work at the grave of Amenmesse ( KV10 ) in the Valley of the Kings Hauptwadi he also directed the excavation of the tombs WV23, WV24 WV25 and in the West Valley.

Otto Schaden received his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota, where he taught Egyptian medium in the early 1970s. 1962/63 he participated in the Nubian Expedition of the Oriental Institute of Chicago part and the following year at the Sudan expedition. 1972 began his work in the Valley of the Kings, where he first studied the grave of the Eje II ( WV23 ). Since 1992 he has worked at Amenmesse - excavation project, in the course of which his team discovered the grave KV63 in March 2005.

In January 2008 dispute led the excavation team to the fact that the University of Memphis ended its association with Dr. Schaden. The damage project has since been continued under the auspices of the Egyptian Antiquities Authority.
