Outaouais
Outaouais is an administrative region (French région administrative ) in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec.
It is further classified into four regional county municipalities ( municipalites Clarisse de comté ) and 75 municipalities, Reserves, and unincorporated areas divided. Seat of administration is Gatineau.
The population is 368 181 (2011), the land area of 30,503.8 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 12.5 inhabitants per km ². 83.5 % of residents speak French and 14.8% English as the main language.
In the north Outaouais borders the region Abitibi- Témiscamingue, on the northeast by Mauricie, to the east Laurentian, to the south by the province of Ontario.
Completely within the region is the Gatineau Park.
