Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan

Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan ( born January 1, 1942 in Sarmasu, Romania, † March 12, 2008 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian actor.

Life

The father Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan died during the Second World War prisoner of war. Later his mother married again and had two more sons. With these she moved to Bucharest. There Moldovan completed his acting studies in 1964 at the National University of Theatre and Film Arts " Ion Luca Caragiale ", among others Martian Pop and Octavian Cotescu, from. His theater debut was a year later in the role of Maxwell Anderson's Winterset million in the National Theatre of Timişoara. He has established itself as a theater actor and played in the coming decades important roles in plays by William Shakespeare, Albert Camus and Seneca. At the same time he started from the mid-1970s regularly play along with the Romanian film.

After his mother died in 1995, located Moldovan refused henceforth to make feature films. He withdrew privately and was seen only in poetry readings with actress Valeria Seciu and the theater. He played his last role in 2004 at the National Theatre Bucharest. Since then he has lived in retirement, without family, of his pension in a small home in Breaza. He suffered for years from diabetes and died on 12 March 2008 at the age of 66 years from cirrhosis in Bucharest's University Hospital.
