Owari Province

Owari (Japanese尾 张国Owari no Kuni ), abbreviated bishu (尾 州) was an old province of Japan. Today, the area is the western half of Aichi Prefecture.

The old capital ( Kokufu ) Owaris was Inazawa in the western part of the province. Two of the most famous warlords of the Sengoku period, Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi came from the province of Owari, Oda had a castle at Kiyosu.
