Oxford (Nova Scotia)

Oxford is a Canadian town in Cumberland County, a northwestern part of the Atlantic province of Nova Scotia. The village is located 32 km east of the nearest large town Amherst. According to the census of 2011 Oxford has 1,151 inhabitants.

Oxford is located at the confluence of three rivers. The name comes from the ford (English ford ) of a nearby river, the early settlers Ox ( Oxen ) used to cross the river.
