P. A. Parenteau

Pierre -Alexandre " P. A. " Parenteau ( born March 24, 1983 in Hull, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since July 2012, he plays for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League for the position of right winger. His cousin Pierre -Marc Bouchard and Francois Bouchard are also professional hockey players.

Career

Parenteau played as a teenager in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL for three different teams. In the NHL Entry Draft in 2001, he was selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

After two more seasons in the QMJHL Pierre began his professional career in the AHL farm team the Ducks in Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. In December 2006 he was transferred to a total of four years in the AHL with the Chicago Blackhawks. For the Blackhawks Parenteau was his first games in the National Hockey League contest. Shortly before the start of the season 2007/ 08 he was sent for a draft pick to the New York Rangers. There he developed in their farm team, the Hartford Wolf Pack, a top scorer in the American Hockey League. In October 2009, Parenteau was appointed to the NHL squad of Rangers and also met in his first game for the Rangers. In July 2010 he moved to the New York Islanders.

On July 1, 2012 Parenteau signed a four year contract with the Colorado Avalanche, who assured him an annual salary of 4 million U.S. dollars. Parenteau came in all 48 games of the shortened by a lockout before the season starts playing time for use, scoring 43 points scorer. He was together with Matt Duchene 's most successful points scorer of the Avalanche this season; his 18 goals scored were within the team the most.
