Pa amb tomà quet
Pa amb tomàquet, [ pa on tu'makət ] (bread with tomato) is a typical dish of Catalan cuisine. It is open for breakfast, as an appetizer or just in between. Earlier, it was considered a poor man's food. There are many variants, such as pa amb oli with pork loin or with cheese and ham. Toasted country bread is first rubbed with garlic, rubbed with a halved tomato, then drizzled with olive oil. The bread can be drizzled with the oil and then rubbed with tomato half, however, also first. The "right" order is a popular topic of discussion in Mallorca.
In Andalusia, this bread is also called Pitufo ( in Spanish " Smurf ").
