Packebusch is a district of the town Kalbe (Milde ) in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

The place is located in the center of the Altmark, about 20 kilometers southeast of the county town Salzwedel. The Federal Highway 190 is about 15 kilometers to reach at Arend.

History

Packebusch was first documented in 1324, the former district of Haguenau 1100. Hagenauer The church was built in the late 19th century, even before the built circa 1900 church in Packebusch. 1910 were registered in the municipality in the former county Salzwedel 602 inhabitants.

Attractions

The Protestant Church of Packebusch is a stately, late Romanesque in the core Feldstein - hall church with western transept tower of 1900. During an extensive renovation of the church according to the plans of the county architect Pflugshaupt in 1865, the square choir were demolished, extended the nave to the east, the input installed from the South moved to the west side, a polygonal apse, increases the eaves, a round-arched frieze fitted and inserted a large arched windows. In 1972 the church was renovated. Further interesting are the houses in half-timbered architecture in typical style as well as the Altmark old head Linden in the village street. As a relic from the days of loam and clay mining the remaining holes are now used as a biotope. To a swimming pond is a recreation area with camping.

In the former district of Haguenau end of the 19th century was a neo-Gothic brick church hall. It consists of a square west tower with octagonal top, a rectangular hall and a retracted polygonal apse.
