Padoh Mahn Sha Lah Phan

Mahn Sha Lar Phan (* 1944, † 14 February 2008) was a politician in Myanmar.

Life

He was General Secretary of the Karen National Union ( CBA) in Myanmar, which campaigns for the independence of the tribe of the Karen. Its armed wing, the Karen National Liberation Army ( KNLA ), the largest rebel group in the country. Their activity is primarily in the border area with Thailand, but also in the neighboring country.

Mahn Sha was in 2008 in the Thai border town of Mae Sot, sitting on the porch of his house, was shot by two assassins.

Mahn Sha had predicted a week before his death in an interview with Reuters in an increase of violence in Burma before the scheduled May 2008 constitutional referendum.
