Breed History

Paduan belong to the hood chickens and are proven to at least 500 years in breeding. Except in Italy, they were widely used in France in the Netherlands and in Germany in the 18th century.

Very old breed, bred from the halbhaubigen European country chicken; bred in the main colors in Germany since the 18th century.

Color strokes

Main colors black, white, gold, silver, great colorful, chamois, blue, cuckoo. Some colors punches are available with bright or black fringed feathers.

Properties

A medium-sized, slightly built chicken in chicken country shape with large full hood and thick beard, with bold, upright posture and with well-developed, but smooth adjoining plumage; quiet and confiding nature, their medium-high legs are blue.
