The Pahang ( Malaysian Sungai Pahang ) is a river on the Malay Peninsula in Malaysia.
Geography
He is with a length of 440 km the longest river on the Malay Peninsula. Its catchment area covers about three-quarters of the federal state of Pahang, and is congruent with the state borders in large areas. The river is formed by the Zusemmenfluss of the two rivers Sungai Jelai and Sungai Tembeling. His highest sources are located on Gunung Tahan ( 2187 m). It flows approximately 9 km east of the city of Pekan in the South China Sea.
Hydrology
In the winter months during the rainy season often leads to flooding.
