Pahlevani and zoorkhaneh rituals

Varzesh -e Pahlavani (Persian ورزش پهلوانی, and Varzesh -e Bastani, Persian ورزش باستانی ), short and Pahlavani, is an originally Iranian physical education in particular through rings or " Koshti " and depicts an ancient martial art whose origins can be traced back to ancient Persia.

As traditional sports facility, the institution of Zurkhaneh used ( house of strength ) as a place of training and exercise. Exercises in Zurkhanehs originally served to prepare for combat situations. The tradition of Zurkhaneh or Zûrchâna be practiced in the traditional Persian power sports is widespread in addition to Iran in Azerbaijan, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan and some other countries.
