Pakhtakor FK (Tashkent)

Paxtakor Tashkent ( Uzbek- cyrillic: ФК " Пахтакор " Тошкент; Russian ФК Пахтакор Ташкент / FK Pachtakor Tashkent) is an Uzbekistani football club was established in 1956 from the capital Tashkent.

Club history

The club was called until 1952 Dinamo Tashkent and 1953-55 Spartak Tashkent, followed by the current name, then in the notation Pachatakor (Cyrillic Пахтакор ), accepted. During the time of the Soviet Union Pachtakor was the only club from Uzbekistan the ever played in the highest Soviet league. Under coach Alexander Keller succeeded in 1960, the promotion to the top division.

The club then spent a total of 22 seasons in the top division of the USSR, but never achieved a better result than the sixth place and suffered descents over again, but was able to return in the highest league usually after a short break. 1968 Pachtakor reached the final of the Cup of the USSR, but lost 0-1 against Torpedo Moscow.
