Pál Gerevich

Pál Gerevich [ pa ː l ɡɛrɛviʧ ] ( born August 10, 1948 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian fencer.

Career

The two-time Olympic bronze medalist (1972 and 1980) in the team competition of the saber fencers won seven medals at the World Championships, including six with the team. In 1977 he became world champion in the individual Säbelfechtens in Buenos Aires. In the same year he was elected Hungarian Sportsman of the Year.

Life

Gerevich is the son of seven-time Olympic medalist Aladar Gerevich. He is currently working as a trainer and fencing master at the Vienna Sports Club. Pál Gerevich is the coach of the Mödlingers Matthias Willau, which at the Cadet World Championships silver medal for Austria in 2009.
