Palacio Piria

The Palacio Piria is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.

Built according begun in the previous year project in 1917 by French architect Camille Gardelle located in Barrio Centro at the H. Gutiérrez Ruiz 1320, opposite Plaza de cagancha. Originally designed as a residential home building is attributed to the style of the historic eclecticism. First owner was Francisco Piria, who died in this house in 1933. Meanwhile, located in the Palacio Piria offices. The building serves as the seat of the Suprema Corte de Justicia, the Supreme Court of Uruguay. Before the Palacio Piria is the Monumento a la Justicia a 1999 inaugurated, built by Rafael Lorente Mourelle monument.

In 1975, the Palacio Piria Monumento Histórico Nacional was appointed.
