Palpitation

Palpitations (from Latin palpitāre " twitch " ), known colloquially as " palpitations " or " stumble ", refers to the conscious perception of one's own heartbeat to see if it is too slow, too fast, irregular, or at normal speed. Palpitations can be caused by overloading, adrenaline, alcohol, diseases such as hyperthyroidism or pacemaker syndrome, hypoglycemia, drugs and medications, or as a symptom of panic attacks.
